There are currently two PhD positions available at the Centre for Mathematical Plasma Astrophysics at KU Leuven, with an intended start date in September 2026.

The first position focuses on incorporating radiative emission processes into particle-in-cell simulations of the solar corona, and on investigating how energy is released during turbulence and magnetic reconnection.

The second position focuses on the reflection and interaction of magnetohydrodynamic waves in the solar corona, using both analytical derivations and numerical simulations.

Applications can be submitted until 28 February.
