Abstracts: Open now! Closes 13st Feb 2026.
Decisions/Schedule: March 2026
Progress in understanding stars, planets, and their environments increasingly relies on connecting insights that have emerged separately within the solar, stellar, and exoplanetary communities. Each field has developed its own observational approaches, modelling techniques, and vocabulary, often leading to parallel but disconnected advances. Bringing these areas into closer dialogue is essential for addressing questions about topics like magnetic activity, atmospheric structure, variability, space weather, habitability, and the physical processes that shape star–planet systems.
This session aims to create a shared space where researchers can exchange results, compare methodologies, and explore how developments in one domain can directly inform another. We particularly welcome contributions that highlight links between one or more of the other fields.
Invited Speakers and session titles:
“The Sun as a Star”: Prof. Sasha Shapiro, University of Graz, AT
“The Sun among the stars”: Dr. Travis Metcalfe, Center for Solar-Stellar Connections, USA
“The planets among the stars”: Dr. Ekaterina Ilin, ASTRON, NL
