Postdoctoral Position 1: X-ray and Energetic Particle Observations (BepiColombo)
This position focuses on the analysis of X-ray and energetic particle observations using data from the BepiColombo mission. The work may include multi-spacecraft studies of the solar wind using data from Solar Orbiter, Parker Solar Probe, and BepiColombo.
Requirements:
* Prior knowledge of solar / heliospheric physics
* Strong experience with data analysis and programming using Python or equivalent
* Ability to conduct independent research and publish in leading journals of the field
Postdoctoral Position 2: Modeling Extreme Solar Eruptions
This position aims to investigate the generation of extreme solar eruptions in the solar corona and interplanetary space using data-driven modeling approaches. Artificial intelligence methods may also be utilized to simulate extreme conditions.
Requirements:
* Background in solar / heliospheric / space plasma physics
* Experience in space plasma modeling
* Experience working with remote-sensing solar observations (magnetograms etc.)
* Ability to conduct independent research and publish in leading journals of the field
The postdoc positions are for 2-years and they are available immediately. Depending upon availability of the project funds extensions can be discussed. We also offer support for applying for personal funds e.g. from the Research Council of Finland and ERC.
