Confused by the federal budget process? Unsure how it funds research? Wondering how – or if – you can advocate? (Hint: you can!)

Then please attend the AGU SPA Advocacy Committee’s inaugural annual Federal Budget Basics Webinar on Friday, November 7th at 2 pm Eastern.

Registration is not required; simply use this Zoom link.

Brittany Webster, Assistant Director of Science Policy & Government Relations at AGU, will give a presentation on the federal budget process. Topics include:
* How the federal budget gets written and passed
* How science agencies get their annual budgets
* When is the best time to advocate for robust research funding
* What you can do to get involved, and available resources

There will be a live Q&A after the presentation, and a recording will be shared after the event.

Even though the federal budget for FY 2026 has not yet been made into law, discussions for FY 2027 will begin in just a few months – join us now to be prepared!

If you have questions about the event, please reach out to the Advocacy Committee event contact, Emily Mason, at [email protected].
