The 17th International Solar Wind Conference will take place in the historic city of Bath (UK) from the 14th to the 19th of June 2026. The triennial Solar Wind Conference covers all aspects of solar wind and heliospheric physics, focussing on current research as well as future directions.
The conference especially focuses on the following science themes:
– Coronal processes and solar wind acceleration
– Transients on the Sun and in interplanetary space
– Acceleration and propagation of energetic particles
– Global structure of the corona and inner heliosphere through the solar cycle
– Microphysics of the solar wind
– Physics of the outer heliosphere
– Solar wind science for space weather
Please note: the early-bird registration deadline is on 03 April 2026. You can find the registration form on our website solarwind17.com as well.
The City of Bath was founded by the Romans as a thermal spa. In Georgian times, it developed into an elegant city with neoclassical architecture whilst retaining its spa tradition. The conference venue is in the city centre with walkable distances (up to a few hundred metres) to various hotels as well as to the city’s main attractions. Other attractions beyond the city include the Somerset countryside, Stonehenge, Avebury, Castle Combe, Longleat Safari Park, and the Cotswolds. All of these are easily accessible with public transportation. The City has easy connections (coach and rail) to/from London’s international airports (Heathrow and Gatwick). The Bristol International Airport is the closest.
We look forward to seeing you at Solar Wind 17 in Bath!
