Selections have been made for this year’s AAS SPD Popular Media Award. Congratulations to the winners! We look forward to seeing what articles and other media are published this calendar year for the next award.

This year’s winners are:

* Madeleine Heideman (student) for the article, “Uncovering the Secrets of the Sun’s Magnetic Field” on Frontiers for Young Minds, published 2025-09-26

Thanks to everyone who wrote articles and produced media about the sun and its effects on Earth this past year. This year was especially competitive with so many major events occurring that generated a lot of media and interest: a major flares, geomagnetic storms, aurora, and Parker Solar Probes closest approach to the sun.
