New versions of science-quality soft X-ray irradiance data from the GOES X-Ray Sensor (XRS) are now available for GOES-R (GOES-16 through -19). Since the 1970s, XRS instruments have monitored two bands of soft X-rays and provided the operational measurements that define the solar flare class. The new (version 2-2-1) Level 2 data products include 1-second irradiances, 1-minute and daily averages, flare summaries, and flare locations. Improvements include updated calibrations and responsivities, revised algorithms, and filled data gaps. This is also the first release of the GOES-19 XRS data from NCEI. Science and operational data as well as plots, documentation and example software are available at https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/products/goes-r-extreme-ultraviolet-xray-irradiance. We acknowledge the work of many people to create this science-quality data, especially Ann Marie Mahon, Jamie Mothersbaugh, and Elysia Lucas. Please contact [email protected] for questions about these measurements or to be added to a mailing list for occasional updates about GOES XRS.
