The National Science Foundation’s (NSF’s) National Solar Observatory Integrated Synoptic Program (NISP) has begun producing GONG H-alpha Integral Carrington synoptic maps. This new data product is now publicly available at: https://nispdata.nso.edu/ftp/oHA/hai/
The maps are generated in Carrington sin(latitude)–longitude coordinates with a spatial resolution of 360 × 720 pixels. Observations from selected GONG sites are corrected for limb darkening and normalized to a consistent brightness scale prior to being combined into the final synoptic map.
We are currently reviewing community feedback that may require reprocessing of the maps in the near future. If you have any questions about the data or identify potential issues, please contact us at [email protected].
