In preparation for the DKIST Flare Month (see DKIST Update on the Cycle 4 Flare Month in September 2026 – SolarNews), the DKIST is conducting a short survey to gather community input on priorities for flare science, observing programs during the flare month, and interest in joining a DKIST Flare Working Group. The survey can be found here. The deadline for submission is May 31, 2026. The questionnaire is anonymous unless you choose to join the Flare Working Group.
Once formed, the Flare Working Group will analyze suggestions submitted through the survey, finalize the experimental design, and recommend the best observing strategy to fulfill the most and/or highest prioritized science cases, while representing the interests of the broader community and being compliant with DKIST capabilities and constraints.
