(1) Solar/Stellar Inertial Modes and Their Implications
Date: September 19, 2025
Time: 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM PDT
Location: Virtual
This virtual workshop will bring together researchers to explore the nature, modeling, and observational signatures of solar/stellar inertial modes. It will feature three sessions, each with one or two invited talks and a few lightning talks, followed by extended time for brainstorming and open discussion.
Key Themes:
* Observations of inertial waves
* Theoretical and numerical modeling of inertial waves and the role of magnetic fields
* What can inertial waves tell us about solar activity?
To register and/or request a contributed lightning talk (2-3 slides), please visit https://coffies.stanford.edu/news-events/events/2025-09-19-Inertial-Modes-in-Stellar-Interiors-Workshop.

(2) Connections Between the Deep Interior and Atmosphere
Date: September 26, 2025
Time: 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM PDT
Location: Virtual
This workshop will focus on bridging the solar interior and atmospheric layers across multiple spatial and temporal scales. It will feature two invited talks to set the scene and three sessions of contributed content.
Workshop Objectives:
* Facilitate a discussion on how best to improve our understanding of the physical connections between the Sun’s convective interior and atmosphere over multiple spatial and temporal scales (from the tachocline to the low solar atmosphere)
* Foster multi-disciplinary collaborations between observers, modelers, and theorists to address these challenges and better understand solar activity and the solar cycle dynamo
