NSO received funding from the NSF to design the next-generation Solar Observing Network (ngGONG). This award will enable NSO to complete the preliminary design of ngGONG, which will replace (and significantly improve) GONG. Our current plan is to use the same six locations GONG is using. The NSO team is excited to continue and expand its successful collaborations in ground-based synoptic programs within the context of ngGONG.
