We want to ensure that we have a broad representation of talks and topics at the meeting, so we are now inviting members of the community to help by joining the Scientific Organizing Committee.
As the Sun evolves from solar maximum and with Solar Orbiter measuring the Sun and solar wind from a high latitude vantage point, Parker Solar Probe having multiple perihelia under 10 solar radii and IMAP in its science phase at L1, we expect an exciting meeting and many new results.
Information about the meeting is available at https://www.solarwind17.com
The science themes of the meeting are expected to be the following:
* Coronal processes and solar wind acceleration
* Transients on the Sun and in interplanetary space
* Acceleration and propagation of energetic particles
* Global structure of the corona and inner heliosphere through the solar cycle
* Microphysics of the solar wind
* Physics of the outer heliosphere
* Solar wind science for space weather
Current members of the SOC are:
* Pradeep Chitta
* Adam Finlay
* Tim Horbury
* Lorenzo Matteini
* Yeimy Rivera
* Laura Rodriguez
* Daniel Verscharen
We seek around ten more members, from all career stages from postdoctoral researcher onwards, who will help with organizing the sessions and making sure that we have the best possible scientific program for the meeting.
If you’d like to help, please email [email protected]
Many thanks in advance and we look forward to seeing you in Bath.
