I encourage everyone from the space physics and aeronomy research community attending AGU25 this year to be proactive about being safe and healthy during your stay in New Orleans.

AGU has health and safety information on their website, including some tips for staying safe while walking in the city: https://www.agu.org/annual-meeting/attend#in-person#health-safety

AGU is monitoring the presence of federal agents in New Orleans. They have a resource page that is being regularly updated: https://www.agu.org/agu25-neworleans-updates

Please read and follow the AGU meetings code of conduct: https://www.agu.org/plan-for-a-meeting/agumeetings/meetings-resources/meetings-code-of-conduct

Staff and volunteers wearing the Safe AGU button have been trained to assist attendees who experience inappropriate or unsafe behavior during the meeting. More information about this program can be found here: https://www.agu.org/Learn-About-AGU/About-AGU/Ethics/SafeAGU

Finally, please feel welcome to wear a filtration mask, for whatever reason but especially if you feeling under the weather.

Let’s strive to support each other next week, so that all attendees feel safe and welcome.

Mike Liemohn, AGU SPA President-Elect
