The SO/PHI team invites the community to the first SO/PHI Science Meeting, taking place 3-5 December 2025
at the Museo de la Ciencia y el Cosmos, La Laguna, Tenerife, Spain.
The Polarimetric and Helioseismic Imager on the ESA/NASA Solar Orbiter space mission (SO/PHI) is the first solar magnetograph which has left the Sun-Earth line and provides both high-resolution and full-disk vector-magnetograms and Dopplergrams of the Sun from novel perspectives (e.g from the solar far side and from out of the ecliptic plane).
This meeting will focus on science results obtained with SO/PHI data, opportunities for new collaborations, and guidance on data use and combination with other instruments. The informal format encourages discussion and the initiation of new projects.
Main Topics:
– Polar science with SO/PHI (first out-of-ecliptic observations and results)
– Stereoscopic magnetometry and seismology (SO/PHI combined with SDO/HMI, Hinode, IRIS, DKIST, GREGOR, SST, etc.)
– Magnetic coupling from the photosphere to the heliosphere (with Solar Orbiter and other data)
Researchers interested in SO/PHI data are encouraged to attend, present their work or plans, and engage with the SO/PHI science team e.g. to learn about using SO/PHI data.
Deadlines:
– Abstract submission: by 31 October 2025
– Registration: by 10 November 2025
