We invite abstracts for the forthcoming meeting on “Partially Ionized Plasmas in Astrophysics” (PIPA2025) that will take place in Bergen (Norway) in the period 01-05 September, 2025.

The dynamics of partially ionized astrophysical plasmas is a relatively new and rapidly growing topic of research in various areas of astrophysics (solar lower atmosphere, ionosphere and magnetosphere of Earth, interstellar medium, protostellar discs, atmosphere of exoplanets, etc). The meeting aims to broaden and strengthen the collaboration of scientists working in partially ionized plasmas in astrophysics and space science and to develop common scientific interest that could enhance cross-collaborations between the different fields.

The abstract submission (for oral contributions) will be open via the official conference website from the 1st May 2025.

We encourage PhD students and early-career postdocs to participate and present their research work. Thanks to the support by SCOSTEP and The Research Council of Norway, the Organizers aim to offer a limited number of registration fee waivers, with preference for PhD students and early career researchers. Additional information on these grants together with the eligibility criteria and requirements for applicants can be found on the meeting’s website.

IMPORTANT DATES:
01 May 2025: Registration/Abstract submission starts
30 June 2025: Abstract submission deadline
31 July 2025: Registration deadline
