Proposal Deadline: September 30, 2025
Proposed Semester: from November 3, 2025 to December 28, 2025
We wish to draw your attention to call for proposals of imaging and spectroscopic observations with the New Vacuum Solar Telescope (NVST). The NVST is a one-meter vacuum solar telescope that aims to observe the fine structures of the photosphere and the chromosphere. It contains a multi-channel high resolution imaging system and a multi-band spectrometer. The multi-channel high resolution imaging system consists of one photosphere channel (TiO 7058 Å) and two chromosphere channels (Hα 6563 Å and He I 10830 Å). The multi-band spectrometer of NVST can provide spectral data in two wavebands: Fe I 5324 Å and Ca II 8542 Å. There are three observation modes: high resolution imaging observation only, high resolution spectrum observation only, or simultaneous high resolution imaging and spectrum observations.
We will select eight proposals from the applications and one selected proposal will give one week to carry out their observations.
The deadline will be September 30, 2025, 23:59 (Beijing Time) and this call for proposals will cover the observing period from November 3, 2025 to December 28, 2025. Please download the proposal via the website https://fso.ynao.ac.cn/cms/info/notif/18357.html. Please send the word or pdf file to [email protected] before the deadline. If you have any questions, please send email to [email protected].
